Staff
Our friendly medical radiation technologist (MRT) team are fully registered and very experienced. They will get the best possible films promptly and limit your radiation exposure.
Equipment
We have new, top of the range equipment, which ensures high quality filming at minimum inconvenience to the patient. We even have a special examination table that lowers to accommodate patients who have difficulty climbing steps. We now have a filmless imaging system this is a state-of-the-art computer system that ensures quality images with the minimum of fuss.
What happens to the results from my X-ray?
A specialist called a radiologist reviews all the films taken in our department. That doctor then makes a diagnostic report to the referrer, your General Practitioner or specialist. This is usually within 12 hours of the films being taken, (although urgent reports can be requested if necessary).
As we now run a filmless system, we do not hand out your images routinely. Please ask if you require your images to be seen by a specialist or other health professional outside the HHC.
