Acupuncture Havelock North runs a clinic,
located in the Dominion Building (across the road from Hastings Health Centre Carpark)
Acupuncture can be used for treating gynaecological disorders, infertility, shingles, hyperemesis, premenstrual syndrome (PMS), migraine, digestive disorders, chronic illnesses, headaches, stress relief, depression, skin conditions, pregnancy and injuries.
Acupuncture also works well for treating acute and chronic pain e.g. sciatica, in conjunction with the services of physiotherapists, chiropractors and osteopaths.
Patients may self refer or be referred by their General Practitioner. The clinic is certified as an ACC treatment provider.
What is acupuncture?
Acupuncture is traditional Chinese treatment for the whole body via key pressure points or meridian lines to relieve pain/promote health. After treatment, people often comment on how well they feel - emotionally and physically.
What happens at the clinic?
A treatment usually takes 45 minutes and includes:
- A full patient consultation
- Details of your past/current medical conditions
- Pulse taking
- Tongue analysis
- Acupuncture treatment
Your treatment may also involve Moxibustion, a herb used for warming the skin and some Therapeutic/Chinese massage of the affected area. Dietary advice may also be offered.
Does acupuncture hurt?
No - it is painless and completely safe. Disposable stainless steel needles are used.
