How will my records by transferred here from another General Practitioner?
The enrolment form includes a letter authorising your permission for The Hastings Health Centre to obtain health records from your previous practice, whether this is local or in another part of the country.  We will manage the transfer process for you, sending off the authorisation letter and arranging for your file to be confidentially transferred.

Once this is in place, you will receive a welcome letter from your new General Practitioner. This advises that your notes have arrived, and invites you to attend for an introductory consultation with your general practitioner and/or the practice nurse. The letter is accompanied by a health questionnaire covering past history, family history, current health problems and screening for relevant health issues.

How long will it take for my file to be transferred?
On average your records should arrive within 10 days.

Who will see my medical records?
Only your new General Practitioner, practice nurse and any other medical professional as agreed by you.  Click here to access information on our Privacy Policy .

Can I get a prescription filled here if it is from another practice?
The Pharmacy staff will be happy to assist you with this.  Normally prescriptions are completed if they are within the correct time frame.

Where do I go for a blood test or X-ray?
Both of these can be done at The Hastings Health Centre.

Can I pay my account at the front desk?
Yes any account from services at The Hastings Health Centre can be paid here.

I would like to change my doctor at The Hastings Health Centre.  How do I do this?
After you have selected another General Practitioner, you will need to visit their GP Suite to complete a new Enrolment form and sign a Transfer of Records form.  This advises your previous General Practitioner of the change and authorises them to refer your records to your new health care team.
