Skills/experience
I enjoy all aspects of general practice, particularly the continuity of care it allows me to provide to different family members.
I have been in general practice since 1999, having trained in Edinburgh. I grew up in North Yorkshire and spent a year teaching in Zimbabwe before attending Edinburgh University to study medicine. I worked as a general practitioner registrar and then general practitioner partner in Leith, Edinburgh, for 5 years. I spent a year in London working for a medical repatriation company and doing general practitioner locum work before moving to New Zealand and marrying.
I am very happy in Hawke’s Bay and plan to be here long term.
I am passionate about student teaching and I am a clinical senior lecturer of the Wellington School of Medicine and Health Sciences. All teaching is done at The Hastings Health Centre.
