Adult ADHD Diagnosis Clinics for HHC Patients
· Hastings Health Centre are offering appointments for Adult ADHD assessments. These appointments will be longer and cost more than regular GP or nurse appointments. They are also limited in capacity.
What you need to know:
- ADHD is a complex condition that requires time and care to diagnose properly.
- You will not receive a diagnosis during a standard 15-minute appointment.
- ADHD assessments at HHC will be carried out by a small select group of GPs via a specialty clinic. This will not be done by your regular GP in a regular consultation.
- ADHD assessments require multiple appointments to ensure appropriate diagnosis, treatment and wrap around support. You should expect to attend a series of approximately 8 appointments.
- There are very few clinic appointments available, with a high demand – so expect a longer wait time.
- Not all referrals will be accepted. Some referrals will be declined.
- For children and young people under the age of 18, diagnosis and treatment will still involve paediatric or psychiatry specialists or multidisciplinary teams.
How do I get an ADHD assessment?
· You can book an appointment with your GP or Nurse Practitioner, as you would normally do for a specialist referral. They will ask questions about your symptoms and history to check if you meet the criteria for referral to the ADHD clinic.
· If the referral is accepted, someone from the ADHD clinic will then contact you to arrange a pre-screening consult.
· This service is available for HHC enrolled patients only.
